Alain Vanier is a psychoanalyst in Paris; founding member and ex-president of the association Espace Analytique, Paris; professor and former director of the Centre de Recherches Psychanalyse, Médicine et Société at the Université Diderot - Paris 7; faculty of Après-Coup Psychoanalytic Association (NY); director of the series “Psychoanalyse, Art et Image” at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris; author of essays published in Europe and America and the books Lacan, Elements d’introduction à la psychanalyse; co-editor of Winnicott et Lacan.
