In Adieu Lacan a young Brazilian woman trying to understand why her path to motherhood has reached an unbearable impasse travels to Paris in 1972 to undergo psychoanalytic treatment with Jacques Lacan. Based on a play and a novel by Betty Milan recounting her own analytic work with him, the film insightfully recounts an analytic trajectory.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director.
