1972: Seriema, a Brazilian woman (Ismenia Mendes) who has had two miscarriages and — in her own words — “lost” her husband, begins an analysis with Jacques Lacan (David Patrick Kelly). She wants to uncover why her own path to motherhood has become an impossible one for her. The black-and-white film is based on analyst Betty Milan's play Goodbye Doctor and novel Lacan's Parrot.
Richard Ledes is a film director, producer and writer. The BFI (British Film Institute) named his Fred Won't Move Out as one of the ten essential films of the actor Elliott Gould (MASH, The Long Goodbye). Ledes’s film The Caller, with a screenplay co-written with Alain Didier-Weill, won Best NY Narrative Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival. Vienna 1913, based on the play by the same name written by Alain Didier-Weill, is in development and slated for production in the fall of 2021: "As an empire collapses, two young men struggle to find a direction."
