The Interpretation of Dreams is a seminal psychoanalytic text that was an integral part of Lacan’s return to Freud. The book introduced crucial psychoanalytic concepts such as the hypothesis of an unconscious functioning centered around desire, and the idea that the dream is a text, which highlights a new understanding of the subject in relationship to language.
This working group will continue to read selected chapters of The Interpretation of Dreams as well as related writings by Lacan.
